CSEP-IMF Roundtable | Securing sustainable finances and medium-term fiscal frameworks: International experience and relevance for India

We hosted a high-level roundtable on “Securing Sustainable Finances and Medium-term Fiscal Frameworks: International Experience and Relevance for India” organized jointly by the Centre for Social and Economic Progress (CSEP) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The roundtable is scheduled to take place virtually on April 23rd, 2021, 7:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Washington DC time, and 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. (17:00 – 18:30) New Delhi time. With this event, we are delighted to bring together the following four distinguished speakers to share their thoughts on medium-term fiscal frameworks and strategies for securing sustainable finances:
- Vitor Gaspar, IMF, Director, Fiscal Affairs Department
- NK Singh, Chairman of the 15th Finance Commission of India
- Niels Thygesen, Chairman of the European Fiscal Board
- Montek Singh Ahluwalia, CSEP, Distinguished Fellow
Anoop Singh, Distinguished Fellow at CSEP, will moderated the roundtable. Anne-Marie Gulde, IMF, Deputy Director, Asia and Pacific Department, delivered the opening remarks; Alfred Schipke, IMF, Mission Chief for India, set the stag for the roundtable; and Rakesh Mohan, CSEP, President and Distinguished Fellow, delivered the closing remarks.
