Mining Matters Episode 4: Mineral-led Development and Sustainability

‘Mining Matters’ is a part of the ‘In Dialogue’ series, hosted by the Non-Fuel Minerals and Mining research team led by Rajesh Chadha, Senior Fellow at the Centre for Social and Economic Progress, New Delhi. We invite experts from India and abroad to discuss how India’s mining sector can catalyse economic growth and development, ensuring fair and sustainable mining practices for the environment and affected communities.

In the fourth episode of Mining Matters, “Mineral-led Development and Sustainability”, Asmita Kabra, Professor, Ambedkar University joins Tanima Pal to discuss the socio-economic (normative) impacts of mining, implications of existing policies and regulations on sustainable mining, mining-induced land conflicts, displacement, resettlement including environmental social and governance (ESG) aspects of critical minerals.
