The Centre for Social and Economic Progress (CSEP) is delighted to host a webinar on India’s Global Climate Diplomacy on Tuesday, November 21, 2023. The discussion will be based on chapter contributions to CSEP’s edited report titled “Tracks to Transition: India’s Global Climate Strategy” by Constantino Xavier, Fellow, CSEP and Karthik Nachiappan, Research Fellow, Institute of South Asia Studies, National University of Singapore (ISAS-NUS) and Non-Resident Fellow, CSEP. The authors will focus on three frameworks of India’s climate engagement  – minilateral, trilateral and bilateral.

Climate change is one of the defining challenges of our time, and diplomacy plays a significant role in addressing this global crisis. India has played a crucial role in global climate engagement with its evolving diplomatic strategies. This webinar will delve into India-centric discussions around the emerging and critical frameworks of the International Solar Alliance (ISA), triangular climate cooperation where India can act as a bridge between the Global North and South, and bilateral climate engagements with the European Union (EU). This discussion will also touch on the upcoming COP28 and how these multiple frameworks of engagements may shape India’s diplomatic stance in Dubai on climate mitigation and adaptation.
