Amaresh Dubey
Amaresh Dubey is Visiting Senior Fellow at Centre for Social and Economic Progress. He has been Professor of Economics at the Centre for the Study of Regional Development, Jawaharlal Nehru University; Senior Advisor and Senior Fellow at National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER); Simon Visiting Professor at the Department of Social Statistics, Manchester University;Visiting Researcher at Indian Statistical Institute (Delhi Centre), University of East Anglia (Norwich), Queen’s University (Belfast), Aarhus University (Denmark) and University of Maryland (College Park).
He has published widely on the subjects related to poverty, human development, socio-religious group disparities, industrial policy reforms, employment and education. His publications include six coauthored and co-edited books, over fifty articles and papers in international and national refereed journals, forty articles in edited volumes, over thirty research project reports and commissioned policy papers for the Government of India, World Bank, DFID, UNDP, Asian Development Bank etc. He received his PhD in economics from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He has taught economics at Jawaharlal Nehru University, North-Eastern Hill University and IIT Delhi. Currently, he is conducting research on issues of employment, wages and higher education.
