Sharath Rao has been active in the area of renewable energy technology, energy access, GHG inventory & mitigation/analysis and energy policy for the past fifteen+ years. Before taking this role, he was the founder and director of Bruhat Energy, which was involved in manufacturing electronic products for off-grid solar power system as well as the installation of solar power & solar pumping systems. Prior to that, he worked as a Senior Research Scientist at the Center for Study of Science, Technology, and Policy, in the field of solar and energy policy. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Mysore University and a Ph.D. in Environmental & Energy Policy from the University of Delaware.
