The Centre for Social and Economic Progress (CSEP) is looking for a motivated and hardworking undergraduate/postgraduate in the Economics/Urban domain from a top tier college interested in policy research on India.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a thought partner to the lead researcher throughout the lifecycle of a research paper.
  • Independently undertake primary and secondary research on assigned questions, with minimal guidance.
  • Produce clear, concise, and well-structured written outputs.
  • Contribute to institutional activities at CSEP, including seminars, brown-bag sessions, and related initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills

  1. Demonstrated interest in policy research; only candidates with a clear commitment to this field should apply.
  2. Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Economics, with up to two years of relevant work experience.
  3. Strong learning agility, with the ability to quickly acquire and apply new skills—such as working with unit-level datasets (e.g., NSSO) and using GIS/QGIS platforms.
