Aashi Gupta
Associate Fellow
Aashi Gupta is an Associate Fellow at CSEP. She holds a master’s degree in Economics from Boston University, where she was awarded a merit scholarship.
Her research on human development focuses on food security, nutrition, health, and gendered dimensions of household welfare. Her academic work has examined how shocks, particularly the COVID-19 pandemic, have affected food consumption, dietary diversity, and coping mechanisms in India. Her research has been published in journals such as the European Journal of Development Research, Journal of Policy Modeling, Journal of International Development, and Review of Development Economics, as well as in Economic and Political Weekly .
She also works on macroeconomic policy, with a focus on fiscal dynamics, capital flows, and growth trends in India. She writes regularly on these issues in outlets such as The Indian Express, Business Standard, Financial Express, and The Economic Times, contributing to ongoing policy discussions.
