UpFront Blog: Wuhan Summit: An important signal of intent by India and China

Following two years of widening differences between China and India over such issues as the boundary dispute, the Belt and Road Initiative, Indian membership to the Nuclear Suppliers Group, and China’s presence in South Asia and the Indian Ocean region, what are the prospects of future cooperation between the two countries? What has changed following the recent informal summit between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping in Wuhan? To discuss these issues, we hosted an expert roundtable discussion chaired by Shivshankar Menon, Distinguished Fellow at Brookings and India’s former National Security Advisor and Foreign Secretary.

The discussion was private, off-the-record and under the Chatham House Rule.
