Valbha Shakya is a Project Advisor at CSEP in the Growth, Finance, Health & Human Development vertical. She has over 10 years of experience spanning teaching, economic research, and policy advocacy. She holds an MPhil in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, a Master’s degree from the Delhi School of Economics, and a Bachelor’s degree from Shri Ram College of Commerce.

Prior to rejoining CSEP, she served as Deputy Director at the Confederation of Indian Industry, where she led initiatives on women’s economic participation and designed state-level inclusion strategies. Her research spans a range of issues including Indian labour laws and their impact on hiring decisions, rural infrastructure and workforce participation, and enhancing economic empowerment of women. Her work has been published in reputed academic and industry-published journals and leading newspapers.
