About the Programme
The newly launched Programme on Business–Society Relations at the Centre for Social and Economic Progress (CSEP), New Delhi, will investigate business-society relations and how various stakeholders perceive responsibilities of Indian businesses towards society. Within this broad theme we will research how Indian corporates are responding to social demands and how their responses are moderated by internal factors such as ownership structures and corporate governance and external context set by the regulatory regime and public expectations. While the research will draw upon various theoretical frameworks, the objective will be to produce evidence-based, policy-relevant research at the intersection of business strategy, corporate governance, and public accountability of corporates. The research outputs will be disseminated through publications/workshops and in an annual flagship event that will include a lecture by a globally recognised thought leader followed by a symposium on the theme.
Role Overview
The programme is directed by a Senior Fellow. Associate Fellow/Research Associate(s) will lead various research themes. The Research Analyst will provide substantive analytical, empirical, and editorial support across the programme. The role combines rigorous data work — both quantitative and qualitative — with strong research communication skills. The chosen candidate will play a central role in building and maintaining the programme’s primary datasets, conducting document and disclosure analysis, and drafting research outputs at various stages of completion. This is an opportunity for a talented early-career researcher to develop deep expertise in corporate governance and business-society relations fields under close mentorship.
