Sumiran Shilpi
Sumiran Shilpi is a Research Analyst in the Energy, Natural Resources and Sustainability vertical at CSEP. She holds a Master’s in Public Policy from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering.
Her research lies at the intersection of climate finance and public policy, with a focus on climate finance mobilisation, adaptation finance, and sustainability transitions in emerging economies. Her master’s thesis examines the potential of carbon credits as a hedging instrument against currency depreciation risk in climate finance projects.
During her academic programme, she interned at Climate Policy Initiative (CPI), where she worked on financing climate adaptation and resilience across ASEAN countries.
Trained in systems thinking, Sumiran approaches complex policy challenges through an interdisciplinary lens, emphasising interconnectedness across economic, environmental, technological, and governance systems.
