The Future of Climate and Development

Reading Time: 2 minutes

On June 23, the Task Force on Climate, Development and the International Monetary Fund hosted a private briefing and reception at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. After publishing some of the first technical research on incorporating climate policy into IMF workflows without losing sight of development needs, the Task Force sought to engage in dialogue with policymakers, press, civil society and researchers, working to align climate and development goals.

CSEP President and Distinguished Fellow and member of the Task Force, Rakesh Mohan discussed a broad range of topics like highlighting the importance of looking for domestic sources of finance; how the economic centre of gravity has moved to the Indian Ocean from the Atlantic in the last decade and why we need to analyse the effects of decline in corporate taxes across the world.
